Philosophy

East to West. Let’s roll.

we can go Kant’s categorical imperatives or the Analects of Kongzi.

Like, is there such a thing as right and wrong? How do we determine such a judgment? Is Buddhism nihilism? Is Creationism the most absurd, ludacris, laughable notion you have ever heard?

Stuff like that.

are relativism and anarchy simply excuses for self absorbed manipulaters to justify doing what the hell they want when, where, and to whomever they want? 🙂

Well Steve, I believe both relativism and anarchy are far more complicated that just that. Every philosophy can be used to justify what people want. So the flaws lie in the practitioners not the philosophies. I think relativism is a fine example. To some degree I suppose you could say that Buddhism is a form of Relativism, but rarely do you find that the “what they want, when, where, and to whomever…” will take the form of say how an Ayn Randian Relativist’s desires would. So we can blame ideas, or those who perpetuate them (and how it is done). Communism is good, humans fuck it up. Thanks for coming. I appreciate your time and exchange. Have a great…everything.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
